PLASTIC SODA BOTTLE FLOWERS!

You will need: One Clear 2LT Plastic Soda Bottle. Scissor, Pearl paint for plastic only, hot glue gun, blow dryer and a rhinestone or glass stone for the middle of the flower. 1) Wash out the bottle and make sure it's dry. 2) draw petals in 2 different sizes on the bottle, you may want another bottle depending how big you want your flower to be. 3) Cut them out. 4) Paint only the back side of each petal. 5) Use the hot glue gun to glue the petals together. 6) Wait 5 minutes to set. 7) Turn of the blow dryer and start heating up the flower until you get the effect you want. 8) Hot glue gun the rhinestone in the middle of the flower. 9) if wanted to hot glue a pin backing or a link to hang it on a rope for a necklace.

OCEAN IN A BOTTLE

What you need

• Empty two liter plastic bottle with lid
• Clear vegetable oil or mineral oil
• Water
• funnel
• Blue food coloring
• Small star fish, shells and other sea creatures
• One tsp glitter
• White craft glue
• Hot glue

What you do

1. Wash and dry two-liter bottle and remove all labels
2. Fill bottle halfway with tap water
3. Add a few drops of blue food coloring and swirl around to mix
4. Add glitter
5. Add sea creatures
6. Fill bottle the rest of the way with vegetable oil using a funnel
7. Be sure that rim and cap are dry, then apply white craft glue around the rim. Seal cap.
8. Use a layer of hot glue around the outer edge of the cap for added protection from leakage
9. Turn bottle on its side and gently rock the bottle to create a “wave” inside your ocean habitat!

RECYCLE YOUR OLD BEACH TOWEL.

With very little alteration, you can turn one of your beach towels into a tote.

Beach-Towel Bag How-To
1. Start by folding one-third of the towel over on itself.

2. Topstitch along the two sides. Fold the free flap down, and tuck it into the bag.

3. Cut two 12-inch lengths of colorful grosgrain ribbon. Fold one piece of ribbon in half lengthwise, and sew each of its ends to the top edge of one side of the tote bag to form a handle. For reinforcement, sew the ends of the ribbon with a square containing an "X" of stitches. Fold the second piece of grosgrain ribbon in half lengthwise and attach it to the other side of the bag, as before, being careful to leave the flap free to open and close.

RECYCLE YOUR OLD BEACH T-SHIRT

CRAFT MATERIALS:
	White T-shirt, washed
	Rubber bands
	Orange fabric dye
	Sink or bucket for the dye
	Rubber gloves
	Blunt-ended scissors
	Cardboard (for inside of shirt)
	Black permanent marker
	Black fabric paint
	Paintbrush
Time needed: Under 1 Hour

1. Pinch and gather up a portion of the T-shirt fabric, then add a rubber band 1 or 2 inches from the point of the pinch. Wrap the band around several times until it's nice and tight. Create similar sections with rubber bands all over the shirt and sleeves.
2. Prepare the dyebath according to the instructions on the package. Thoroughly wet the shirt with water. Wearing rubber gloves, submerge the shirt in the dye. Let it soak until it looks a shade darker than you want it to be.
3. Still wearing gloves, rinse the shirt under warm running water. As the rinse water becomes less orange, change the water temperature to cold.
4. Once the water from the shirt runs clear, carefully cut off the rubber bands. Dry the shirt.
5. Insert cardboard inside the shirt, then use a permanent marker to draw jack-o'-lantern features inside each circle. Fill in the shapes with the marker, or use black fabric paint (which stays black longer).

BABY CLAMS ALL OVER THE BEACH

The kids and I spent the afternoon cleaning our mile of beach after seeing the birth of Millions and Billions of baby clams. It's such a great feeling to know that you are keeping the beaches clean so they have room to grow!

MILK JUG GHOSTS!

CRAFT MATERIALS: Clean plastic gallon milk jugs Black permanent marker Craft knife String of 50 clear low-wattage holiday lights Time needed: Under 1 Hour 1. Draw ghost eyes and mouths on the jugs. Tip: Leave the caps on while you do this, so the jugs don't dent.

2. Use the craft knife to cut a half-dollar-size hole in the back of each jug
(a parent's job).

3. Arrange the ghosts near each other and string the lights between them, stuffing several bulbs into each of the jugs.

Transform a handful of plastic grocery bags into a great pumpkin!

Materials Needed: 8 Plastic grocery bags Newspaper 1 Paper towel tube Orange paint Green paint Glue gun Paint brush Scissors Instructions:

Cut the paper towel tube to about 5” long. Take about 3 pieces of newspaper, lay them in a single layer, and fold them over until they're about 2” wide by the length of the paper.

Glue ends to secure the folded pieces of newspaper. Make about 6 folded strips. Set aside. Take the bags, at the center of the bottom, and pull through your fingers to make it 'flatter'. ... Read More

Glue each bag, from the center bottom with the handles up, next to each other all the way around the paper towel tube, about 3” from the top.

This combination should resemble a pompom. Begin gluing the strips of newspaper to the tube, starting at about 3” from the top.

They should be over the glued ends of the plastic bags. Wrap the strips around the tube, gluing as you go around. When you get to the end of one newspaper strip, add another piece so they are end to end.

Now, pull each bag down by the handles, over the newspaper ‘rib’, to the bottom of the tube and then stuff the handles up into the tube.

Repeat this for all of the paper bags. As you pull down more plastic bags, it gets a bit harder to stuff the handles into the tube so Donna suggests using the end of a pen to shove them in.

To finish your grocery bag pumpkin, pinch and slightly fold in the top of the tube with your fingertips. This will be the stem of your pumpkin.

Paint the pumpkin (grocery bags) orange. Stain the stem with green paint that has been mixed with water to give it a more realistic look.

A PRETTY FLOWER BOWL FROM A PLASTIC SODA BOTTLE.

YOU WILL NEED: Clear Plastic Soda Bottle at least a 2 LT, A Sharp Scissor, Permanent markers in any color, Blow Dryer, Pliers and a Glue gun.

1) Just take a clear empty plastic soda bottle and cut it about 3 to 4 inches up from the bottom.
2)Take blow dryer to the top bottle bottom and while you are heating it up start taking the pliers turning it in.
3) left over plastic take a sharp scissor and cut out at least 5 petals per one flower and a circle.
4) Take a Permanent marker and color the flowers or leave them plain.
5) Heat up the petals with the blow dryer until you get the look that you want. 6) Glue it together and then glue it to where you want it on the bowl.

Don't worry about going to the stores to buy something to get a plastic store bag, they are everywhere free for the taking. You can find them on the beach, roads, caught in trees and fences and in places you think to yourself how did it get there.

NOTE: In this video they have you fold up the bag 4 times, for a bigger section you can take 4 pieces and fused them all together.

PAINTED DRIFTWOOD

If you been to the beach last month you will notice all that driftwood all over the place, I can't tell you why it is there, but I found a idea what to do with it. Trying to find you more pictures of painted Driftwood. This looks like it would be fun to do with the whole family. The bigger the piece of driftwood the bigger the painting is. I also have seen people hang shells, charms, glass bottles and sea glass from it.

SEA GLASS PENDANT

Sea glass:

Also known as beach glass, mermaid's tears, lucky tears, and many other names is glass found on beaches along oceans or large lakes that has been tumbled and smoothed by the water and sand, creating small pieces of smooth, frosted glass. Sea glass is one of the very few cases of a valuable item being created from the actions of the environment on man-made litter.
Sea glass is also needs to be taken off our beaches, if it brakes it is still as sharp as a piece of glass.

Here is an idea, take any kind of wire. I like to use 20ga. Silver wire and just wrap it around the piece of sea glass, hang beads or charms from it or just leave it plain. I have seen Sea glass pendants selling for over $30.00 in stores. A great way to make money and keep the beaches clean.

RECYCLED PAPER BEADS

When we were cleaning up the beach we found newspaper and paper advertisement's just flying around, I was thinking that would make a great looking paper bead. You can make these beads from recycled scrap paper, and string them together to make jewelry!

What you'll need:

• scraps of wallpaper, magazine pictures, used wrapping paper, colored paper, etc.
• pencil, ruler, varnish and scissors
• paste
• drinking straws
• thread or yarn

Before you begin, gather all of your supplies together and put them on your work surface. Read all of the directions from start to finish. Now you are ready to begin.

1. With your scissors, cut long triangles from your paper scraps that are about 1/2-inch wide and 2 1/2-inches long. Make a template to trace, if you wish.
2. Cover one side of a triangle with paste. Put the paste on the inside of the paper so that the colorful pattern will be on the outside of your bead.
3. Place the triangle's glued short side on a drinking straw.
4. Wrap the paper completely around itself on the straw.
5. Cut away the straw at both ends of the rolled paper.
6. To make beads with different shapes, vary the size and shape of the paper triangles that you cut.
7. Then dip it into varnish.
   
8. Let your beads dry, and then string them together on your thread or yarn. Knot the ends of the thread together.

PLASTIC 2LT. SODA BOTTLES DECORATION

A Friend sent this picture to me. I guess you just cut the bottoms off a Plastic 2.Lt. soda bottle or even a water bottle for smaller flowers and put 2 holes on the top and 2 holes on the bottom and then hang it on a string.

BOTTLE CAP PENDANT

Bottle caps are one thing that you will always see at a beach.
I hoping with this idea a lot of people would want to keep their bottle caps then throwing them on the ground. Please keep our beaches clean!

All you need is Bottle caps, paper, glue and clear nail polish. Cut a circle out of paper and glue it right into the bottom of the bottle cap.
Do not brush the nail polish on the paper, just pour a couple of drops onto it. It will take a hour to dry.

To hang it, you would need to drill a hole in the one side of it.
You can always glue a magnet on the back or even glue a pin backing to it.

DECORATIVE RECYCLED LIGHTED GLASS BOTTLES

Very easy to make, all you need is a dark glass bottle that you find on our beaches, clean it out. You can make your own label for it if you would like too. You need any color of the 50 mini lights that they sell around the holidays and silk flowers to decorate the top of the bottle with.
First put the 50 mini lights in the bottle and then stick the stems into the bottle, if there is any silk leaves on the stems please take them off.
Then plug it in and you have yourself a Decorative Light you can put anywhere near an outlet.

DRIFTWOOD DISPLAY

Here's a fun way for your child to display his favorite beach snapshot or a collage of your best vacation photos.

CRAFT MATERIALS:
	Piece of dry driftwood
	Tacky glue
	Small wooden craft clothespins
Time needed: About 1 Hour

1. Remove any sand from the driftwood (a dry paintbrush or soft scrub brush makes a good tool for this). Then simply glue several clothespins to the back of the driftwood, spacing them apart and angling them in a way that will let you attach several photos with none obstructing another. If needed, use rubber bands or twist ties to hold the clothespins in place until the glue dries.

PLASTIC BOTTLE CAPS ORNAMENTS

This is made of Plastic bottle caps and plastic bottles cut in half.  All you need for the plastic bottle caps is paint, but you can leave them as is.  

1 nail, 1 hammer and a fishing line (sometimes you can find it on the beach) On the side of each bottle cap you need to make a hole with the nail if you can not punch it  out with your fingers then try a hammer, but make sure that there is a thick wood surface under the bottle cap.  With the Plastic Bottles just cut the bottom off and the top.  I am trying to come up with more ideas to do with the middle part.  Now have you ever notice that the bottom of the plastic bottles almost looks like a Sand Dollar?
